The Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP)
of Academia Sinica cordially invites young talents in Vietnam to participate in
the Workshop held at University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vietnam
Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), respectively on Tuesday, March 16 and
Thursday, March 18, 2010, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
This Workshop is intended to provide news to young Vietnamese
intellectuals regarding research and educational environment at Academia
Sinica, the most prestigious and internationally renowned research institute in
Taiwan.
In terms of financial support, admitted students to the TIGP will receive a
monthly stipend of NTD 32,000 for up to three years, in addition to grants or
awards for those having achieved academic excellence. The TIGP, in
collaboration with top local universities, such as
NationalTaiwanUniversity
(NTU) and
NationalTsingHuaUniversity (NTHU),
currently has nine interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs, and all the courses
provided are conducted in English.
This year we are pleased to have distinguished
scholars as keynote speakers, who will provide an in-depth look at Academia
Sinica’s latest development on:
1. Stem Cell and
Cancer 2. Earth System Science. In addition to these speeches, the
afternoon session of the Workshop will be devoted to instruction (by AS faculty
in the form of group discussion) regarding English study plan composition and
tips on overseas study.
Lastly, we expect the Workshop will not only
attract Vietnamese intellectuals with great research potentials but also
enhance mutual understanding and cultural exchange between
Vietnam and
Taiwan.
